Dr Vanessa Lusink is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist with special interests in advanced laparoscopic gynaecology and fertility. Dr Lusink trained at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney prior to moving to Townsville for an AGES Fellowship in advanced laparoscopic gynaecology. Now fellowed, Dr Lusink is pleased to be able to combine her passion for complex gynaecologic surgery with a lifelong interest in fertility and reproductive medicine in her private practice.
Dr Lusink studied at the University of Newcastle, after growing up in Tasmania and Brisbane. As keen scuba divers, she and her husband have enjoyed settling in and enjoying the North Queensland lifestyle.
Dr Lusink has a keen interest in teaching and research. She is the training program co-ordinator for obstetrics & gynaecology registrars at the Townsville Hospital, and has recently completed a randomised control trial on optimising post operative pain relief. She prides herself on developing strong working relationships with her patients and is committed to achieving excellent patient outcomes.
Dr Lusink practices both publicly and privately, operating privately at Townsville Day Surgery and the Mater Townsville, and publicly at Townsville University Hospital.
In her free time, Dr Lusink has developed a passion for home projects courtesy of living in an old queenslander, enjoys scuba diving, getting outdoors and spending time with her daughter, husband and two dogs.
